What is the Wars of the Roses?
I have heard about the "Wars of the Roses" but I am not sure exactly what and when they were.
The Wars of the Roses was a large scale English Civil War fought between 1455-1487 between two English families: The House of York and the House of Lancaster. The Wars were ended by the victory of Henry Tudor (later VII) at the Battle of Bosworth. He began the Tudor Dynasty.
